Children are eligible for TCM's Infant/Toddler program between the ages of four months and two years eight months, after which time they become eligible for the Preschool program.

An important aspect of the program portion devoted to very young children is the size and constancy of each group. A low child/teacher ratio of two or three to one allows for individual attention to be given to each infant or toddler. Each session consists of up to nine children with three teachers. The staff develops a secure and comfortable environment in which children can grow.

Each session includes free play, planned group activities, reading and quiet time, circle time, snack, outdoor play, and walks on the Middlesex campus. Sunny windows and cozy play areas invite the young child in the environment.

Children eligible for the Preschool program range in age from two years nine months through five years old. Some families also choose an extra year in our program for their child who is between five and six prior to that child entering kindergarten.

Each session consists of up to twenty children with four teachers. The preschool classrooms are enriched by the variety of play areas and centers. In the centers, children are encouraged to make choices and discover more about themselves and their world, with teacher stimulation and guidance.

A typical day includes free play, outdoor time, and group activities and projects, all of which take place in a multi-arts curriculum.
